Terms and conditions

Payment Policy

Reservations are guaranteed upon payment of 50% of the amount through the chosen payment method, up to 15 days before check-in.

The reservation is secured after receipt of proof of payment of this 50% by email to info@saltyspot.pt.

Failure to pay this amount leads to the automatic cancellation of the reservation.

The remaining amount of the reservation must be paid by PayPal or bank transfer 8 days before the check-in date.

Cancellation Policy

The conditions for the cancellation of the reservation depend on the advance notice of the respective communication:
– If it is up to 15 days before the check-in date, there will be a full refund of the amount paid for the reservation;
– If it is within the 14 days prior to check-in, 30% of the total amount of the reservation will be charged.

If the guest does not show up on the day of the reservation, it is considered a “no-show”, with no refund of any amount.

The guest already installed can interrupt their stay without the right to reimbursement.

Terms and conditions

  1. Scope of application
    The terms and conditions contained in this document apply to the relationship between the potential guest, hereinafter referred to as Customer, and Salty Spot, from the moment of the reservation request until the end of the period of stay.
    In situations that are not provided for in the Terms and Conditions, the applicable legislation is used.

  1. Booking Policy
    Reservations can be made by phone, email and through our website and Facebook, booking engine Booking.com and Airbnb. Reservations by phone, email, website, and Facebook are subject to availability.
    Upon booking request, if rooms are available, Salty Spot provides a booking transaction code.

Salty Spot only guarantees the Customer the provision of a room of the type reserved.

III. Arrival and departure
The Salty Spot makes available the room of the reserved category from 3 pm on the scheduled arrival date.
Before check-in, guests must identify themselves and provide identification data via email (citizenship card/passport).
On the departure date, the Client must leave the room free of people and goods and without any damage by 11 am.
Check-in and check-out may take place outside the defined hours as long as availability is checked with Salty Spot.
If the room is not vacated by 11 am on the day of departure, without any justification or prior consent from Salty Spot, compensation corresponding to the price of one night will be immediately charged, with the Customer only having the right to use the room during that period if there is one. room availability. Otherwise, you will have to pay the compensation and leave the room as soon as possible.
Salty Spot does not have a 24-hour front desk service. We appreciate that guests inform us of their arrival time.
Upon check-in, you will be given a key ring with the key to the main door. If you lose your keys, you must immediately report the incident to the emergency contact provided, and the value of the key will be charged to the guest. Keys must be returned at check-out.

  1. Terms of Use
    Only the persons indicated in the accommodation reservation will be entitled to use the room. Temporary visits to our guests are only allowed with prior consent from Salty Spot management.
    The Client and the accompanying person(s), if applicable, must use the room under the appropriate conditions, with care and consideration.
    The Client and companion(s), if applicable, must treat other guests with consideration and respect the “House Rules”
    The Salty Spot offers its guests a common patio.
    The common spaces and equipment available to guests must be used in the right conditions and left clean and in good condition.
    All damages, breakdowns and thefts associated with the Customer will be charged, taking into account the value of the damages in question.
    Children under 14 years of age must be supervised by an adult guest at all times during their stay.
    Salty Spot will not be responsible for personal belongings that may disappear within its facilities.
    The Customer must always close the exterior access doors, and check that doors and windows are properly closed.

In case of emergency, the Customer must call the contacts provided in the information book, there is a copy available at home.

  1. Parking
    Salty Spot does not have private parking. However, there is free public parking in its surroundings.

  1. Animals
    It is expressly forbidden to house animals at Salty Spot.
    The introduction, by the guest, of animals in the accommodation allows Salty Spot to inform the Customer of the obligation to leave without refunding the amounts paid in the meantime for making the room available during the contracted period of stay.

VII. Noise
As a matter of respect and understanding for all guests, special attention is asked for silence in social areas, stairs and corridors.
Between 9 pm and 8 am, activities that cause noise likely to annoy other guests are not allowed, in accordance with the General Noise Regulation.

VIII. Room access via Salty Spot
The Salty Spot team will have the right to enter the room/house, during the Customer’s stay, in order to carry out cleaning, repairs and similar work.

  1. Price of stay and other prices
    The price of the stay to be paid by the Client constitutes the consideration for the use of the accommodation’s room, in the period between arrival and departure.
    The total price of the stay will be charged per night, regardless of whether the Customer actually used the room.
    The applicable rates will be the agreed prices or the prices established in the Salty Spot price list in effect on the date of the reservation request. Salty Spot will have the right to update prices, informing the Customer in good time.
    The rates and amounts indicated for the stay are all inclusive of VAT at the legal rate in force, unless expressly provided otherwise.
    Salty Spot provides information and current promotions on its website.
    The offers and promotions are temporary and are subject to the specific conditions defined.
    Specific payment terms may apply to travel agencies, tour operators and other entities.

  1. Payment conditions
    Payment for the stay and extra services must be paid up to eight days before check-in (for reservations made at least eight days in advance), or at the time of booking (for reservations made eight or less days in advance) ) .
    Salty Spot accepts payments by credit card, paypal or bank transfer.
    Checks are not accepted.
    Specific payment terms may apply to travel agencies, tour operators and other entities.

  1. Claims
    There is a complaints book available.
    Any complaints or suggestions should be forwarded to management.
    Upon verifying that there is indeed a defect in the Client’s house/room, Salty Spot has the right to opt for repair and relocate the guest in a house/room of the same category contracted with the guest. Only defects likely to jeopardize Salty Spot’s level of service and quality will be considered.

XII. Responsibility of Salty Spot
Salty Spot will be responsible for ensuring adequate conditions of hygiene, cleanliness and safety of the accommodation.
Salty Spot will not be responsible for personal belongings that may disappear within its facilities.
Salty Spot assumes no responsibility for the loss of data provided by the Customer in the event of electronic transmission of payment data, being only responsible in the event of culpable action.
Salty Spot will not be liable to the Client in the event of delay in making the house/room available in the event of force majeure. Force majeure will be those that make it impossible or more difficult to make the house/room available, such as strikes, blockades, natural disasters, accidents in the room or in the accommodation.

XIII. notification duty
In the event of theft, property damage, fire, flooding or other damage to the accommodation’s room, the Customer must immediately inform the Salty Spot team and do everything to help resolve the situation in question.

XIV. End of stay
Salty Spot has the right to terminate the stay if the Customer fails to pay the amount due, as well as if the Customer exhibits any behavior that affects good coexistence, peace of mind or hygiene.

  1. Data protection
    The personal data of the Client and his/her companion(s), if applicable, will be stored and processed by Salty Spot and service providers, in accordance with the Law, for the services requested by the Client and for its own advertising campaigns .
    The Customer will have the right to object at any time to the use of personal data for advertising purposes, having to inform O Salty Spot.
    Unless otherwise provided by law, the Customer’s personal data must be deleted when the legal retention period ends.


XVI. General provisions

The Terms and Conditions govern the Customer’s stay at Salty Spot and the use of the room by the Customer.
The nullity of one or more of the above provisions does not affect the validity of the remaining provisions. The invalid provision will be replaced by the valid provision, the closest to the commercial and legal intentions of the parties or if this is not possible by the Portuguese legislation in force.
